Warranty and Workmanship Terms
This page separates the manufacturer’s warranty on the selected slab from KT Stone’s responsibility for templating, fabrication and installation. These additional warranties do not affect your statutory rights.
Manufacturer or supplier warranty
Warranty length and registration requirements vary by brand, material, product and intended use. Many eligible engineered surfaces carry long manufacturer warranties, commonly in the 15–20 year range, but the exact period is the period published by the selected supplier for that specific product at the time of purchase. Natural stone may not carry the same manufacturing warranty. We will identify the supplier and available registration information in your project documents; do not rely on a single minimum period applying to every slab.
KT Stone workmanship
KT Stone remains responsible for performing its templating, fabrication and installation services with reasonable care and skill. A supplier warranty does not replace that responsibility. If you believe there is a problem with joints, cut-outs, support, levelling, fabrication or fitting, contact us promptly so we can inspect it. Where our service does not meet the required standard, statutory remedies remain available.
What a manufacturer warranty normally covers
Subject to that supplier’s own terms, an eligible warranty normally covers verified manufacturing defects in the slab. The supplier may require registration, proof of purchase, the product reference and photographs, and may provide repair or replacement material rather than associated labour or consequential costs.
Items normally outside a manufacturer warranty
- Natural variations in colour, pattern and veining.
- Damage caused by impact, misuse, excessive heat, thermal shock or unsuitable chemicals.
- Staining, etching or scratching inconsistent with the material’s care guidance.
- Structural movement, unsupported cabinetry or work by an unrelated third party.
- Temporary metal marks, fingerprints or ordinary wear.
An exclusion does not apply where the issue was caused by KT Stone failing to exercise reasonable care and skill, and nothing on this page excludes a right that cannot legally be excluded.
Care and making a claim
Follow the care information supplied for your chosen material. To report a problem, email info@ktstone.co.uk with your invoice or project reference, the installation address, a description and clear photographs. Do not arrange destructive remedial work before giving us a reasonable opportunity to inspect, except where urgent action is reasonably required for safety or to prevent further damage.
